Menopause-Doorway To A New Life

Updated: Oct 26, 2022

Many times, when we think of menopause, we think of all the horror stories out there. The symptoms and the hard times that women have to go through at that stage in life. Yes, it is hard. It is indeed a difficult and emotional time for women, but I believe when all that is over and even amid it, there are things we can do to enjoy life and have peace going through that period of life.

Lifestyle changes is something that is a given at that stage in life. One because it helps regulate our hormones. Two, it gets us healthier and able to handle this new stage in life better.

What kind of lifestyle changes do we mean, you might ask? Well, for one, exercise recommended during this period. Exercise perks you up. It’s a mood lifter. Kind of like what you experience when you take chocolate, but without the sugar. It helps reduce stress, inflammation and widens your thermoregulatory zone in the brain. This helps to make you more comfortable when you have all the temperature fluctuations experienced during menopause.

We find that meditation helps to center us and enables you to be relaxed. Journaling while in this state helps you write with a clearer head and outlook on life.

Your diet at this stage in life will have to change as well, because we truly are what we eat. When we eat foods that nourish the body, we find that a lot of things take care of themselves, without us having to use medication. The body was built to heal itself and to do that; it needs the right nourishment. Foods rich in fibre and vitamins help to heal the body and it makes us feel so much better.

These things help us go through menopause well and even sometimes comfortably. But you know when that period is over, there is a whole new life ahead of us to live and there are a few things we don’t have to worry about anymore.

First thing we do not have to worry about is the periods and the pains that come with it. Eating excessively before the period is over, headaches that come with it are also gone, and we save money. No more buying all the things you need during your periods.

Sex becomes more pleasurable and carefree. You are not worried about having a baby. And as some studies have shown, some women have a higher sex drive while going through menopause.

Living comfortably during this season has become easier because there are so many resources and products available to help one in this season of their lives. Essential oils might help with hot flashes, a symptom of menopause. One such oil is Clary Sage. It might help calm the nervous system as well. Geranium might also help with balancing hormones at any stage in a woman’s life, from puberty to menopause.

It’s like the world opens up to them in a fresh new way and they need to discover all that is in store for them. We encourage you to live, laugh, and enjoy what this new chapter of life has for you.
